INTRODUCING A NEW MEMBER SERVICE...
To further the cause of networking, HRA is starting a professional/social network on LinkedIn to assist in this effort. Members can go onto LinkedIn and request an HRA group designation that will connect you to all other members. The LinkedIn portal will also allow a member to post a question to the group and receive feedback via email on any HR related topic. This will allow our group to connect, ask advice and strengthen the HRA membership.
Prerequisite: Register with LinkedIn - Go to www.linkedin.com
Instructions to join the Networking Group "HRA of Greater Oak Brook"
1. Go to www.linkedin.com
2. Click on "Groups" section in the left-hand navigation menu.
3. Under Group Directory, click on "Find a Group"
4. Under Search Groups, type in HRA of Greater Oak Brook
5. To Join, click on link "Join this group"
6. An email will be sent to the Message Board Administrator with your request to join. HRA members in good standing will be approved.
7. In return you will receive an email from the Message Board Administrator if your request has been approved.
Legal Hotline
FREE EMPLOYMENT-LAW HOTLINE FOR HRA MEMBERS
HRA’s Board of Directors is pleased to offer a new benefit to all HRA members: the HRA Employment-Law Hotline. HRA members who have questions on employment law can call this hotline, free of charge, to receive legal information from HRA’s Co-Legislative Director, Neil H. Dishman, or one of Neil’s colleagues at Jackson Lewis LLP, a national firm representing management exclusively in workplace law.
To use the hotline, call (312) 803-2530 to be connected to the front desk at Jackson Lewis LLP, and state that you are calling for the “HRA Hotline.” The receptionist will take some basic information about you, your company, and your question, and then hang up with you. As soon as possible, Neil or one of his colleagues will call you back to discuss your question. In the vast majority of cases, someone will return your call on the same or next business day.
