Program Overview:
Join us for HRA's May Professional Development Program to cover Conducting Lawful Investigations.
Litigation arising out of incidents of harassment, discrimination and other types of workplace misconduct costs organizations billions of dollars each year. Employee lawsuits increasingly focus on the quality of the organization’s investigations and investigators. Often these lawsuits are won or lost based on the jury’s answers to questions such as “Was the investigator trained properly?” or “Did the investigator go too far and violate an employee’s privacy rights?”
At the same time, courts are giving greater deference to properly conducted investigations. This program will highlight the skills necessary to conduct effective internal investigations that produce objective results and withstand scrutiny in litigation.
Speaker Biography:
Amanda Wright advises and represents employers in various areas of employment law and traditional labor law, including employment discrimination, wage and hour and labor-management relations. She also conducts in-person training on a variety of employment-related issues.
Recertification Credit Hours: This program has been approved for 1 (general) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
